BIOGRAPHY PELE  
 



Pele's talent was first discovered by former Brazilian player Waldemar de Brito. At that time Pele was only 11 years old.  



Start a Career



 Under Waldemar's care, the man born in Tres Coracoes, October 23, 1940, grew up to be an extraordinary player. At the age of 15 years Pele began to be recruited to the Santos club.



Winning world cup



 At the age of 17, Pele debuted at the 1958 Swedish World Cup. In the same event Brazil also won the World Cup for the first time. Pele netted the winning goal against Wales, scored a hat trick against France in the semifinals and scored two goals again when Brazil silenced the Swedish host 5-2 in the final. Serious injury suffered while playing in the opening match against Mexico made Pele had to be content to witness the triumph of his team-mates, similar injury was experienced by Pele when appearing at the 1966 World Cup. Ironically without the presence Pele, at that time Brazil suffered a tragic fate because it had to be eliminated in the early rounds. At that time Pele had felt the success of winning the World Cup three times.Pele had to wait until the 1970 World Cup was held. At that time his obsession to bring Brazil to bring the Jules Rimet trophy forever finally became reality.

Together with Santos, Pele won the Sao Paulo competition 11 times, won the Brazilian Cup twice, won the Copa Libertadores twice and was the top scorer in the Sao Paulo competition. Overall Pele has scored 1281 goals in 1363 matches.

On 7 December 1941, Japan stroke the military base of Pearl Harbor. The base was owned by the US Navy. Their fleet harboured dozens of battleships and hundreds of aircraft.
